Crispy Baked Orange Chicken Wings

Ingredients
  

For the chicken
  • 2 ½ lbs chicken wings (drums and flats separated tips removed
  • 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Tbsp black pepper
  • For the sauce
  • 1 ½ teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 2 ½ teaspoons crushed red pepper
  • ¾ cup orange marmalade
  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Rinse wings (flats and drums) and pat dry.
  3. Transfer to a bowl and toss with vegetable oil salt and pepper.
  4. Position wings on baking rack in a single layer.
  5. Bake rotating halfway through until fully cooked 45-50 minutes.
  6. Remove wings and transfer to a large bowl.
  7. Add sesame oil and olive oil to a saucepan over medium low heat.
  8. Add garlic and ginger and cook until golden brown (about 3 minutes).
  9. Add red pepper flakes, orange marmalade and hoisin sauce. Cook stirring occasionally for about 5 minutes.
  10. Pour orange sauce over wings, tossing to thoroughly coat and serve immediately.
