Turkey, black bean and chicken Andouille sausage chili

Kennys in the kitchen making chili and it's packed with turkey, chicken, black beans, and sausage. All the things you love in a hearty chili. Enjoy

Ingredients
  

  • Andouille sausage
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 ½ tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 diced onion
  • 1 can fire roasted diced tomatoes or fresh
  • 1 can black beans drained
  • 12 oz marinara sauce
  • 5-6 oz water

Method
 

  1. Place 2-3 tsp of olive oil in pan and preheat over med high heat
  2. Add diced onions and saute 1-2 min
  3. Add ground turkey and season with garlic powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, chili powder and cumin
  4. Break up meat, mix and simmer 10 min until brown
  5. Drain oil once done
  6. Add diced tomatoes, black beans, marinara sauce and 5-6 oz water
  7. Reduce heat and stir and simmer for 30 min
  8. Preheat oven to 375
  9. Cut small slices along top of Andouille sausage (to decrease cooking time) and bake for 15 min
  10. Remove sausage, cut into small pieces and add to chili
  11. Simmer chili 30 min until it thickens (longer simmer time the better)
