Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken

Teriyaki chicken made easy with this slow cooker recipe. Not only is the chicken dtender from the slow cooking but you also get a delious thick teriyaki sauce, enjoy.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons water

Method
 

  1. Place chicken in crockpot.
  2. In a medium bowl combine brown sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger, garlic and pepper.
  3. Pour over chicken and cook on low heat 4-5 hours.
  4. Remove chicken from slow cooker and chop into cubes. Set aside.
  5. Transfer liquid from slow cooker to a skillet and bring to a boil.
  6. Whisk together cornstarch and water.
  7. Slowly add cornstarch mixture to boiling liquid and reduce to a simmer.
  8. Allow sauce to thicken(about 2-3 minutes) then toss chicken back in the mix.
  9. Coat chicken with sauce and let heat through.
  10. Serve over rice with Stir-fry vegetables.
