New Orleans BBQ Shrimp

These new Orleans BBQ shrimp are great as a meal or appetizer. Prepared with a tangy BBQ sauce New Orleans shrimp add a delicious protein to any meal and are good all times of the day, enjoy.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb large or Jumbo Shrimp cleaned peeled de-veined
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic chopped
  • ¼ cup hot sauce
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • cup beer wine or broth
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp Creole Seasoning
  • ½ tsp cracked black pepper
  • 2 additional Tbsp of butter chilled and cut into 1/2 inch pieces
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh parsley chopped for garnish

Method
 

  1. Melt butter in a large cast iron skillet over medium high heat.
  2. Add chopped garlic and saute until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  3. Add in hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, beer, lemon juice, pepper and Creole seasoning.
  4. Simmer for about 5-7 minutes until sauce has reduced and thickened a bit.
  5. Add Shrimp and cook about 2-3 minutes per side until done depending on the size of the shrimp.
  6. Reduce heat to a medium low and stir in your chilled butter until it melts.
  7. Season with salt to your liking.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley, add Italian bread if desired.
