Deep Fried Cornish Hens

Level up your poultry dished with deep fried Cornish hens. These Cornish hens are seasoned and marinaded  then deep fried to a perfect crunch, enjoy.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cornish hen spatchcocked halved, washed and pat dry with paper towel
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2 Tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 Tbsp All purpose Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Cajun Seasoning
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • Vegetable Oil for frying

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl combine oil, seasonings, egg, mustard and hot sauce. Mix well.
  2. Add Cornish hen half and massage mixture into Hens then let it set 30 minutes.
  3. In a large container add flour, cornstarch, and 1 Tbsp all purpose seasoning and Cajun Seasoning. Mix well.
  4. Dredge hen half's and place on a large plate.
  5. Heat cooking oil to 325°F
  6. Fry hens (turning every 3 minutes) until golden brown (his should take about 12 to 15 minutes).
  7. Remove Hens to a paper towel lined baking sheet and allow to cool slightly.
  8. Serve with your favorite sides.
