Steak N Shake’s Frisco melt copycat recipe made at home

Kenny’s back in the kitchen to show his copycat version of the Frisco melt. This burger is known for its Frisco sauce and Kenny’s gonna show how to make that too. TasteDis!

‘Frisco Melt’ copycat

Prep time: 10 min

Cook time: 15 min

Ingredient

  • 1 Onion
  • Sour dough bread sliced
  • 2 Tb thousand island dressing
  • 1Tb Russian or western dressing
  • 1-1 1/2 Ground beef (turkey)

Directions

Frisco sauce

  1. Mix Thousand Island and Russian dressing ingredients

Burgers

  1. Thinly slice onions
  2. Grill onions in pan until slightly brown and caramelize then set to side
  3. Roll ground meat into golf ball size portions
  4. Season generously with salt and pepper
  5. Heat larg pan over med heat until hot
  6. Place meat balls in pan and let sear. Do not press patty
  7. Cook for 1 minute
  8. Flip burger and press into patty. Let cook for several minute
  9. Flip again and cook for 3-5 minutes until browned
  10. Add cheese
  11. Butter several pieces of sour dough bread and toast in toaster oven until slightly brown
  12. Build sandwich with Frisco sauce, caramelized onions and burger
