There’s a new burger in town, the grilled lamb burger with sauteed mushrooms and Swiss cheese. A definite upgrade from regular ground beef this grilled lamb top it with a savory mushroom sauce and Swiss cheese is a keeper, enjoy.
Grilled Lamb Burgers with Swiss Cheese and sautéed Mushrooms
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground lamb
- 7 mint leaves
- 5 basil leaves
- 5 oz baby Bella mushrooms sliced
- 2-3 garlic cloves
- 1 Tbsp dried oregano
- 1 red Jalapeño or sweet pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Swiss cheese slices
- Brioche Buns
Directions
- In a large bowl place ground lamb. Season with salt, pepper and dried oregano.
- In a food processor place garlic cloves, fresh herbs and pepper. Pulse a few times.
- Add to the ground lamb combining ingredients. Don’t over mix.
- Form 3 1/3 lb lamb balls then flatten into patties.
- Heat grill to around 400 degrees.
- Cook patties for 3 minutes on one side. Flip and grill 3-4 minutes on the other side.
- In a separate medium sized pan melt 1 Tbsp butter over medium low heat.
- Saute sliced mushrooms for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Build burgers on toasted Brioche Buns, starting with the Lamb Burger.
- Top with sautéed mushrooms and melt Swiss cheese over the top.
