Tomahawk Ribeye Steak

Kenny’s tackling a classic cut of steaks, the Tomahawk rib-eye steak. We’re going into the kitchen where he’ll show how he preps, seasons and cooks a Tomahawk rib-eye to get a delicious tender cut every time. Enjoy

Tomahawk Rib-Eye Steak

Ingredients 

  • 1-2 Tomahawk Rib-eye 2 1/2-3inch thick
  • 2-3 Tbsp Kosher Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Cracked Black Pepper
  • 2-3 sprigs fresh Thyme for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat grill to 400° Season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear steak on all 4 sides(4 mins per side and 1 minute per side perimeter)10 min total
  3. Preheat oven to 380°F, transfer steak to foil lined baking sheet with wire rack. Bake for an additional  27 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 140° F
  4. Set on plate, top with garlic butter and cover with aluminum foil for at least 5 minutes.
  5. Slice against the grain
