This new England Double IPA by Omni Brewing Co. is called FAD ‘freakin awesome and delicious’ and yesss it isss. It smells and taste like a citrus bomb, orange and mango. It’s a hazy looking brew, a deep yellowish orange and opaque. Out of a chilled glass it had a small white head that dissipated within several minutes. It’s a slightly breadie beer so drinking it fills you up. Omni Brewing Co. says this beer is made with Citra, Mosaic & Amarillo, I happily went through many 4 packs before getting this review done. It’s also surprisingly refreshing, there is only the slightest hint of alcohol on the tongue but it isn’t distracting from the rich citrus/ mango flavors. No bad after taste either only the clean flavor of the beer as you drink it.
Coming in at 8.1 % ABV this beer is hitting pretty hard so just one of the 16 oz cans will set you straight. IBU is low around 45. To wrap this up if you want to try a very tasty beer with refreshing citrus flavors this is it. It may only be sold locally in the Midwest so if you ever see it in the store or you are in the Minneapolis area I advice picking up some cause its a ‘fu#@n awesome and delicious’ beer. Cheers!!
