Chicago’s known for its hotdogs but have you tried the Chicago burger. If you like the seasoning and garnishing of Chicago dogs you have to try this Chicago burger recipe
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (Angus 80/20)
- 1 teaspoon celery salt
- 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
- 2 Tbsp yellow mustard
- 12 sports peppers, sliced in half lengthwise
- 16 dill Hamburger slices
- 1 cup neon relish or Vienna Chicago relish if available
- 8-12 thin slices of tomato
- 4 onion and poppy seed buns
- American Cheese Optional
- Mix ground beef and celery salt in a large bowl.
- Separate into four equal portions to form patties. Season each Patty with cracked black pepper as well.
- Sear in a large cast-iron skillet or grill if you will for about 4-5 minutes per side med-high heat until they reach an internal temp of 160°F.
- Hit the bottom of each bun with mustard then sports peppers followed by the burgers (and cheese if applicable).
- Top each burger with pickles, thin tomato slices, Chicago sweet relish, and bun top.
- Accompany with some Fresh cut fries…
