
Bourbon Steak
This bourbon steak recipe takes or your favorite cut of steak seared in butter then basted in a smoky bourbon and Worcestershire sauce. Yeah it's as good as it sounds, bourbon steak. Enjoy

Ingredients
- 4 4 oz Top Sirloin Steaks about 1 inch thick room temperature
- Sea salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
- 2 Tbsp Dijon Mustard divided
- 2 Tbsp butter divided
For the Bourbon Sauce
- ⅓ cup Bourbon
- ¼ cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon dried basil
- ½ teaspoon dried Rosemary
- ⅔ cup heavy whipping cream or half and half
- Dried parsley for garnish
Method
For steak
- Season steak with salt and pepper and set aside for 20 minutes or so.
- Rub steaks with Dijon Mustard.
- Heat a large cast iron skillet to medium high heat
- Add butter to pan and cook steaks (two at a time) 3-4 minutes per side for a medium rare.
- Remove steaks and set aside. Repeat with remaining steaks.
For the Bourbon Sauce
- In a small mixing bowl combine Bourbon, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, Rosemary and basil. Whisk together well.
- Add the Bourbon mixture back to your hot cast iron skillet on medium heat and cook for about 2 minutes until slightly reduced.
- Stir in heavy cream or half and half and cook for another minute or two until sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and return steaks to the pan.
- Flip to coat. Garnish with parsley.
I paired with mashed potatoes.
