Philly Cheese Steak Sliders
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2Â tbsp butter
- 1 diced onion
- 1 diced pepper
- 1/4 cup diced mushrooms
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 6-8 ounces provolone cheese (sliced or shredder)
- Brioche buns
Directions
- Prepare ground beef in a pan over med heat
- Strain cooked ground beef from pan allowing oil and drippings to remain
- Add 2 tbsp of butter and combine over medium heat until creamy
- Add 1 diced onion, 1 diced green pepper, diced mushrooms, and mix
- Allow the vegetables to simmer for 2 min (only stir once after 1 min)
- Return ground beef to pan mix and simmer for 3-5 min
- To create your sauce in a large mixing cup or bowl combine 1 cup beef broth, 2 tbsp ketchup, 1 tbsp corn starch, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1/2 tsp kosher salt, and 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce. Mix well
- Pour sauce onto simmering meat and stir until oils and sauce blend
- Simmer on med-high until 75% of the liquid is gone
- Once there is a minimal amount of liquid reduce heat to med-low
- Evenly layer on 6-8 oz. of provolone cheese (sliced or shredded)
- Stir in cheese until melted
- Serve on toasted brioche buns
