Kenny’s in the kitchen again and this time he’s putting a new twist to the egg roll by stuffing it with a Philly cheesesteak. That’s right a Philly cheesesteak egg roll.
Philly Cheese Steak Egg Rolls
Ingredients
- Steak (rib-eye or sirloin)
- Chopped onions
- Chopped peppers
- Olive oil or butter
- Cheese of choice
- 1 package egg rolls
- 1 egg
Directions
- Preheat skillet to 350 (med-high) with 1 tbsp oil or butter
- Add steak you can use rib-eye or sirloin
- Cook several minutes per side until it begins to brown
- Break up the steak add peppers and onions to the pan
- Continue to cook 3-4 min
- Remove meat and veggies drain pan of oil
- Return meat and veggies to the pan, add cheese allow to melt, and set to the side
- Create an egg wash with 1 egg and several tbsp of water
- Paint a thin layer of the wash onto the perimeter of the egg roll sheet
- Add 2 Tbsp of filling to the egg roll
- Fold in a corner and roll up the filling into an egg roll
- Preheat pan of oil over high heat, enough oil to almost cover the egg rolls
- Fry egg rolls until golden brown and crispy remembering to flip in oil to fry both sides
- Cool on a wire rack to avoid soggy egg rolls
