Jamaican(ish) Jerk Fish

This isn’t your regular Jerk Fish, it’s better. This Jamacan-ish Jerk fish can be made with Cod or Snapper fillets, then we add a special bend of seasoning to give it that amazing jerk styled flavor without too much heat. Enjoy
Jamaican(ish) Jerk Fish

Ingredients

  • 4 6oz Cod or red snapper fillets
  • 3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Jerk Seasoning:

  • 3 Tsp garlic powder
  • 3 Tsp onion powder
  • 3 Tsp dried thyme
  • 2 Tsp Kosher Salt
  • 3 Tsp brown sugar
  • 2 1/4 Tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 1/2 Tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 1/2 Tsp ground Allspice
  • 1/2 Tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 Tsp nutmeg

Directions

  1. In a bowl mix jerk spice ingredients together then pour in a large enough pan to fit a fillet.
  2. Pat fish dry and coat both sides with seasoning.
  3. Pressing in and shake off all excess. Transfer to a plate.
  4. In a large skillet heat 1/2 the oil on medium high heat.
  5. Cook about 2 minutes per side.
  6. Let rest on rack for 10 minutes.
  7. Serve over red beans and rice.
