Honey Butter Fried Chicken

Buttermilk fried chicken and honey is a delectable combination. It’s the best buttermilk fried chicken you ever had, enjoy.

 

Honey Butter Fried Chicken

Ingredients

  • 6-8 pieces mixed chicken
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cornstarch
  • 5-6 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 2 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 Tbsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 quart buttermilk
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp butter melted

Directions

  1. In a large bowl season chicken 1/2 of the garlic powder, salt, pepper and cayenne pepper.
  2. Pour in the buttermilk, cover and allow to marinate in the fridge for at least an hour.
  3. Remove chicken from refrigerator and allow to rest at room temperature for an hour.
  4. In a medium sized bowl combine flour, cornstarch and remaining seasoning.
  5. Once chicken is room temperature, coat chicken with flour mixture and shake off any excess.
  6. Let chicken rest at room temperature for 20 minutes.
  7. Preheat oil to 350°F.
  8. Fry chicken, turning occasionally until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees and golden brown.
