Traditional French Toast

French Toast

French toast has long been a breakfast favorite. This recipe delivers a great traditional French toast that the whole family will crave, enjoy.

Ingredients
  

  • 6-8 slices Brioche loaf
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3-4 Tbsp heavy whipping cream
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp oil

Method
 

  1. In a medium sized bowl combine eggs, heavy whipping cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract and salt.
  2. Whisk together well.
  3. To a medium sized skillet add oil and melt butter over medium heat then reduce heat to medium low.
  4. Dip each slice of bread to French Toast mixture on both sides.
  5. Place bread in skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Place on plate in oven on warm. Repeat process.
  7. Serve with your favorite maple syrup and fresh fruit if desired. I desired lol!
