Level up your poultry dished with deep fried Cornish hens. These Cornish hens are seasoned and marinaded then deep fried to a perfect crunch, enjoy.
Deep Fried Cornish Hens
Ingredients
- 1 Cornish hen spatchcocked, halved, washed and pat dry with paper towel
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 Tbsp yellow mustard
- 2 Tbsp hot sauce
- 1 Tbsp All purpose Seasoning
- 1 tsp Cajun Seasoning
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- Vegetable Oil for frying
Directions
- In a large bowl combine oil, seasonings, egg, mustard and hot sauce. Mix well.
- Add Cornish hen half and massage mixture into Hens then let it set 30 minutes.
- In a large container add flour, cornstarch, and 1 Tbsp all purpose seasoning and Cajun Seasoning. Mix well.
- Dredge hen half’s and place on a large plate.
- Heat cooking oil to 325°F
- Fry hens (turning every 3 minutes) until golden brown (his should take about 12 to 15 minutes).
- Remove Hens to a paper towel lined baking sheet and allow to cool slightly.
- Serve with your favorite sides.
