Chicken Thighs with Creamy Bacon Mushroom Thyme Sauce

Kenny’s back in the kitchen this time he’s making chicken thighs with creamy bacon mushroom thyme sauce. This is a great dinner recipe with a hearty flavor, chicken thighs with creamy bacon mushroom thyme sauce enjoy.

 

Chicken Thighs with Creamy Bacon Mushroom Thyme Sauce

Ingredients

  • Chicken Thighs
  • 4 chicken thighs (skin on, bone-in)
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil (divided)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (thyme, basil, oregano)
  • Mushroom Sauce
  • 6 ounces white mushrooms (sliced)
  • 5 slices bacon (cooked/chopped)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/8 tsp Salt
  • 5 sprigs of fresh thyme

 

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350° F
  2. Season both sides of chicken thighs with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning blend.
  3. Heat vegetable oil on medium-high heat in a large skillet.
  4. Add chicken thighs skin side down and cook for 5 minutes on the skin side until browned nicely.
  5. Transfer the chicken to a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil skin side up and bake at 350° F for about 25 minutes until the thighs are no longer pink in the center.

 

Mushroom Sauce
  1. Heat remaining Tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet on medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms to skillet and cook for 3 minutes (turning once).
  2. Add chopped cooked bacon to the skillet.
  3. Add heavy whipping cream, 1/8 tsp Salt, and thyme sprigs to the mix. Bring to a boil, stir and immediately reduce heat to low and simmer for 2 minutes and allow flavors to blend well. Taste and add salt if needed.
  4. When chicken is done baking and chicken thighs are completely cooked through add chicken to skillet and spoon Mushroom Sauce over chicken.

Served with green beans.
