
Blackened Shrimp Cavatappi

Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp cleaned peeled and de-veined
- 8 oz Cavatappi noodles cooked al dente according to package instructions
- 2 Tbsp blackening seasoning or to make your own as follows:
1 tsp of each..
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Cumin
- Smoked Paprika
- Dried Oregano
- Cayenne pepper
- Black Pepper
- and 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 Tbsp tomato paste
- ¼ cup sour cream
- ½ cup fresh Parmesan cheese grated
- Green onions or fresh parsley chopped for garnish
Method
- Cook Cavatappi noodles according to package instructions.
- Season Shrimp on both sides.
- Melt butter in a large skillet on medium high heat.
- Cook shrimp 4-5 minutes flipping halfway through. Remove and transfer to a plate.
- Reduce heat to medium in the same skillet. Add heavy whipping cream.
- Bring to a low simmer, scraping up the brown bits from the bottom of the pan for even more Flava!
- Reduce heat to low and add tomato paste, sour cream and Parmesan cheese. Stir until smooth.
- Add salt and pepper to taste if needed.
- Add cooked pasta and shrimp to the sauce and toss to coat.
Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions.
