Philly Cheese Steak in an Egg Roll? Yep and this is how you do it.

Kenny’s in the kitchen again and this time he’s putting a new twist to the egg roll by stuffing it with a Philly cheesesteak. That’s right a Philly cheesesteak egg roll.

Philly Cheese Steak Egg Rolls

Ingredients

  • Steak (rib-eye or sirloin)
  • Chopped onions
  • Chopped peppers
  • Olive oil or butter
  • Cheese of choice
  • 1 package egg rolls
  • 1 egg

Directions

  1. Preheat skillet to 350 (med-high) with 1 tbsp oil or butter
  2. Add steak you can use rib-eye or sirloin
  3. Cook several minutes per side until it begins to brown
  4. Break up the steak add peppers and onions to the pan
  5. Continue to cook 3-4 min
  6. Remove meat and veggies drain pan of oil
  7. Return meat and veggies to the pan, add cheese allow to melt, and set to the side
  8. Create an egg wash with 1 egg and several tbsp of water
  9. Paint a thin layer of the wash onto the perimeter of the egg roll sheet
  10. Add 2 Tbsp of filling to the egg roll
  11. Fold in a corner and roll up the filling into an egg roll
  12. Preheat pan of oil over high heat, enough oil to almost cover the egg rolls
  13. Fry egg rolls until golden brown and crispy remembering to flip in oil to fry both sides
  14. Cool on a wire rack to avoid soggy egg rolls
